Prevention & Education
- Wyoming County Mental Health Department: Provides community education around mental wellness, educational materials about mental health diagnosis, and suicide prevention. Trainings available include Youth and Adult Mental Health 1st Aid
- POEMS (Prevention of Emotional and Mental Stress) A program offered in the Wyoming County elementary schools, designed to provide support & services to assist children in dealing with stresses to help prevent & minimize the development of mental health issues. A POEMS counselor is onsite at each school to provide services.
- Partners for Prevention: A community coalition and addiction prevention program that serves Wyoming County by providing curriculum education in schools (Towards No Tobacco, Second Step, and Project Class Action), offers Responsible Server Training & additional prevention education opportunities to the county. Support & Coordination Services

Wyoming County Single Point of Access (SPOA) services are available to children and youth with behavioral health concerns
- Health Home Care Management – Enhanced care coordination and linkage to community services and supports as needed.
- Psychosocial Rehabilitation – Help youth identify and work on specific skills such as anger/stress management or social skills
- Home-based Crisis Intervention – Intensive, short-term; focuses on safety planning and techniques to reduce crisis behaviors
- Mental Health Respite – Parents retain custody while child spends a brief period in a qualified foster home or with a respite worker
- Home and Community-Based Services – Intensive; develops and implements a service plan to keep kids at home
- Western New York Children’s Psychiatric Center Mobile Mental Health – Assessments and consultation for children and youth
- Western New York Children’s Mobile Integration Team – Community based services delivery by a multidisciplinary team
